The official trailer for  The Last Day has been released, serving as director Oisin Byrne’s follow-up project to his acclaimed documentary Living In My Car. Produced through Parameter Films this narrative short film transitions into a tense psychological drama explicitly set within the high-stakes world of academia, highlighting Byrne's distinct directorial style.

 

Featuring Paul Albertson as an embattled academic. Byrne previously hosted Albertson on the Parameter Films Podcast to discuss their filmmaking and acting process.

Public Discourse was distributed through the international film festival circuit, picking up several awards including Best Script. Coinciding with Byrne joining the BAFTA Crew program, participating in the foundational industry network and eventually launching Parameter Films into its next stage.

 

Public Discourse follows two characters, Esme and James, who hold conflicting beliefs about how the world works. Sparks fly when the two unexpectedly cross paths and clash during a night out.
